R&A Risk Professionals, Inc., Announces Appointment of Brian Pottebaum as Vice President of Technical Operations
Urbandale, Iowa — July 1, 2025

R&A Risk Professionals, Inc., a national leader in petroleum storage tank risk management, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Pottebaum as Vice President of Technical Operations, effective July 1st.

With 25 years of experience in environmental risk management, Pottebaum brings extensive expertise in regulatory compliance and technical education. He has developed numerous training programs for tank installers, testers, inspectors, removers, tank owners and operators, helping shape best practices across the industry. In his new role, he will oversee technical operations, including educational programs, standards development, and compliance oversight, reporting directly to COO Brian Wiegert.

Prior to joining R&A, Pottebaum worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, overseeing petroleum UST compliance. He holds a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University and is a Licensed Iowa UST Inspector. Pottebaum holds multiple professional certifications, including Iowa Certified UST Compliance Inspector, Iowa Certified UST Installation Inspector, AMPP (NACE) and STI/SPFA Certified Cathodic Protection Tester, OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Site Operations, and ICC U1 – UST Installation/Retrofitting. He is an active member of AMPP (NACE) and STI/SPFA, and serves on several technical committees, including STI/SPFA R051, API 1626, PEI RP1200, and the PEI Technical Training & Certification Council.
